Default Niagara Players Charged

Four Niagara players charged with disorderly conduct

Associated Press

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Starting guard Lorenzo Miles was among four Niagara basketball players charged with disorderly conduct early Thursday after a fight in a parking lot.

Also charged with refusing to leave the scene of a fight were Stanley Hodge, Kamau Gordon and incoming freshman Javonte Clanton. The four are to appear in court Sept. 8.

They remain on the team pending a school investigation, athletic director Ed McLaughlin said.

The four were arrested near the scene of the fight and shortly after someone said he was attacked by five men while trying to get into a van, according to a police report. One of the five pulled the man out of the van and they took turns punching him.

The victim lost consciousness and was driven to a hospital and treated for facial bruises, the report said. He identified the attackers as members of the basketball team. The fifth man was not charged.

Miles, a senior, finished second on the team in scoring last year.
