Default JJ Redick arrested for DUI ...LOL

DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) - Life after Duke has turned infamous for J.J. Redick.

According to a report by television station WTVD, the former Blue Devil star was arrested early Tuesday morning for driving while impaired.

Citing a police report, WTVD said that the Atlantic Coast Conference's all-time leading scorer was arrested shortly after 1:00 a.m. EDT after Redick committed an illegal U-turn to avoid a police checkpoint.

An officer followed Redick and reported a strong smell of alcohol on Redick's breath and glassy eyes when he was pulled over.

Redick, who was released on a $1,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in a Durham court on July 17.

The 2006 Wooden Award winner, Redick averaged 26.8 points and made 139 3-pointers as the Blue Devils went 32-4 this past season. He is expected to be a first-round pick in the NBA draft on June 28.

I think the funniest part about this incident, is that JJ is exactly what David Stern wants the NBA to be...clean cut, follows the rules..doh.

His BAC was like .11, that's like 3-4 beers. This is really being blown WAY out of proportion.

I find it hard to believe that he was "glassy-eyed" at that point.

Its still over the legal limit .....and every athlete that does something wrong get this kind of treatment ...its how our society works....look at Kurt Busch last year ...all he got was a wreckless driving ticket and you of swore that he ran someone over or something

His BAC might have been just a little over the legal limit , but DUI is still wrong and when your about to make millions ...its really stupid....I dont think this really is blown out of proportion ..he deserves to be embarrased

I'm not saying that a DWI isn't serious but the whole "Duke is a renegade program" and all the other crazy BS that Duke-haters are spouting is wayyyy over the top.

It's a young man that made a poor choice, it's not the first or last time this will happen and I have no idea why this would be such a poor reflection on Duke or Coach K like some have made it out to be.
