Nomar back to Dodgers 2 yr 18.5

Moises Alou to Mets 1yr 7.5

Mike Stanton to Reds 2 yr 5.5

Juan Pierre signed with the Dodgers 5 yr 45 million

Also anyone ever go to espn and look at the FA ranking . Its very funny how they have Schmidt not only ranked ahead of the younger and better Zito but ranked #3 overall ...what a laugh

They even have Andy Pettite ahead of Zito , what are these guys smoking ? Ted Lilly ahead of him also ? Gil Meche , I demand a rewrite of and a firing of this writer ... ranking #15 overall FA

If ya want laugh heres the link

I don't think there is one. They could be GROSSLY overpaying for him by about year 5 of this contract.

Thats what MLB is all about lately . Over spending on players and rising the team salarys to laughable numbers like Yankess 200 million payroll and them not get to WS . Red Sox payroll not getting them into the playoffs . I still vote for some kind of salary cap and will never change my stance on that issue .

Angels sign Gary Mathews to a 5 yr 50 million contract. First decent yr and now hes going to make 10 million a season ...If your interested in his stats yr-yr here they are .

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/player...?playerId=4080

Angels also signed Justin Speier for 4 yr 18.0 million

Sources tell ESPN that Carlos Lee will be signed with the Astros for a contract of 6 yrs worth 100 million that has a no trade clause for first 4 and for the final 2 a limited no trade .

Astros also sign Woody Williams to a 2 yr 12.5

Ahhh the pain players that could be helping my Pirates but wont be signed because of the only 13 million their willing to spend this . Another yr in cellar most likely . Atleast I can enjoy watching Jason Bay every once in awhile and hey maybe Freddy Sanchez will keep at the high level he was last yr and Jack Wilson return to form when had 200+ hits . And maybe just maybe pitching staff grows in big ways and we become atleast a .500 team

Danys Baez signed 3 yr 19 million with Orioles .

This is a good signing for the Orioles had 2nd worst era among bullpens in the majors thats asking for bad things in the AL East. They really need him to regain his form when he was with the Devil Rays 2 yrs ago rather than what he did last year

Red Sox have made a offer to Matsuzaka . I wonder if he'll accept and ifso how much was offered . I hate not knowing info . LOL

Greg Zaun will return to the Blue Jays 2 yr 7.25.

Randy Wolf will head out west with the Dodgers for 1yr 8 million deal

O's are still adding to the Bullpen by signing Scott Williamson for 1yr 900k deal with incentives , They also have a agreement with Chad Bradford

Another Japenese bid that ended on Kei Igawa reports are showing Yanks and Mets as interested candidates . He was 86-60 3.15 era in his career over in Japan . Also Tampa Bay won the rights to Akinori Iwamura for a bid of 4.5 million . The 3B .311 with 32 homers and 77 rbis last year and is career .300 hitter with 188 homeruns and 570 rbis

That can be said about alot of deal this winter . Payroll are going in the opposite direction of which they should . Cant wait to laugh at opening day payrolls and laugh at all the over spending that is being done . But I still wish my Pirates would do that , very depressing to know theres less than a 5 % of them making the playoffs year in and year out. We need to get a owner that is willing to spend a little . Not grossly over pay but throw some money around because sooner or later the fans that show up now will stop and give up and they'll end up losing the team .
