Default WC 2006 : Team Reviews

Okay, I will try to write short reviews for teams participating in the World Cup. Let's start with England.

England have once won the trophy, it was 40 years.
The team was successful in qualifiers, being first in their group, after beating Austria and Poland. However, they have surprisingly lost one of their matches against North Ireland. Coach Sven Goran Ericsson hits the tabloids, and he already knows that he will be replaced after the World Cup.

In 2002, they lost in 1/4 final against Brazil.

Key players : Rooney, Owen, Beckham, Lampard.

Chance of winning the WC : 7%

It's only my opinion =)) If you have something to add, feel free! I am waiting for your comments.

Angola

This will be their first ever performance in the World Cups.
Angola showed great football in qualifiers, losing only one match and especially playing great at home. They managed to win against Nigeria and Algeria, these teams are strong.

However, as Angola will not be playing on their home stadium Cidadela, I think that they will not be able to go through the first round.

Key players : Benfica Mantorras, Figuerido, Maurito

Chance of winning the WC : 1%
=)

Italy

Finally a new generation is playing. Jaccardo, Barzagli, De Rossi, Blazi and more, they are ready to use this opportunity to show that they deserve to be the elite of World Football.
Marcelo Lippi is involved in a scandal right now, seems like his son has stolen a couple of millions in Italy =)
As well, I think they have a slight problem with forwards, Del Piero and Vieri being too old and the young ones don't show (IMHO) good football.

I think they will lose in 1/4.

Chance of winning the World Cup : 4%

Good job ) Let me try to help :

BRAZIL , great midfield Ronaldinho and Kaka, good depth Joninhio.
The attack isnt so strong and hungry as midfiled Ronaldo (not sure if he's fit), Adriano lacked fitness all season long and played well in the absense of Ronaldo when he was fit. Defence : there is some confidence there at the center with Dida at the back but I'm sure the old guys Carlos and Cafu dont look sure themselves, Carlos had a bad season in Real perhaps he could be great on the dead balls but consistant on the field? Thatss a question. Cafu is old.
What I see here is that they will have a tough WC, it will never be as easy as everybody thinks!

ARGENTINA Strong on the midfiled - Requilme and Co (although Aimar benched), even the defensive ones seem to be strong enough on the field but they lack another defensive player as Cambiaso and Mascherano are on the bench. The attcking side is wide and full of competitive ones that can adapt to this midfield like Maxi or Gonsales and Messi(if fit will boost the team to anather level emotianally). Sorin, of course Crespo and one of the hungry guys (Teves, Saviola, Palacio) . About the defence there isn't much confidence about the formation and the players in it, Ayla is sure to play, Heinz will be examined on the field 1st or 2nd match. Burdiso seems to be the third defender. Anyway the bench seems unconfident and unexperienced .
