With two men being carted off the field today with 0 points, this team still put up a season high for me. 159 - 129 W. 9-2 now. Parker was a huge dissapointment the whole game but just like last week he produced in the 4th qrtr. Miami's D was huge. They didn't do anything till the 4th qrtr either. They had to have the most points in the league today. In this league, each turnover's worth 4. They got 2 for holding Min. to 20. 2 TDs at the end. Sacks are worth 2. They finished with 32 for me! What sucks is, this is the third week in a row I've managed to pick a QB that didn't throw a td pass, and Colston and Jones left the games injured with zeros.
Slinger:
The league's at head2head.com. They joined up with allamerica fantasy sports (aafs.com) this year. They put you in a 32 man league (there are many leagues). Trades are 3 dollars a piece unless you buy a package and get them cheaper. They gave me 4 complete team trades for free for joining the league again, but I've invested in trades the last few weeks. You get a 100 million dollar salary cap each week. All players are given a price. Some are over-priced, some are under priced. They adjusted some down at mid-season, 2 weeks ago. Chad Johnson dropped to 10.5 at that point and that's when I picked him up. So I've had him in the last 2 weeks for his 450 yds and 5 tds.
A team consists of a QB, 3 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 team DEF/SP Team. Pretty standard scoring accept all FGs are just 3 points.
L. T. costs 15.8. It's a given you just leave him in. Reggie Wayne is 8.2. Too cheap IMO. Javon Walker was put at 4.5 to begin the season. Huge value there. L.J. is 16.0. P. Manning's 20 while M. Leinart is 12.6. You can usually find the value in the QBs. Sometimes the D's like today with Miami.
You have to change your team around a lot to compete. Hence, the place will make a lot of money off people buying trade packages. You don't 'have' to trade but more than likely, the guy you're facing has changed his whole team around.
What I don't like about it, is once the teams are locked in for the week, they don't allow you to view anybody else's team (aafs used to) accept your opponent that week. Once it's over, they still don't let you look around to see who had who. Just the head to head scores are posted each week so you can see who won or lost and the standings are updated.
What's neat about it, is the league goes to the actual superbowl. Two teams will be competing from each 32 team league during the actual superbowl. If you win your division, they give you 5 extra million of cap room going into the playoffs. 2nd gets an extra 2.5 mil. That's a new feature this year. Although player salaries get re-adjusted going into the playoffs too. Win your superbowl and you win 300 bucks. If you win your SB, at the end they compare your total points scored during the playoffs and the SB and if you put up the most total points compared to all of the other SB winners, the top prize is 25 grand. 2nd is 5 grand. 3rd is 2 grand. 4th is 1000. 5th is 500. 6th through 10th win 100 and 11th through 50th get 50 dollars. On top of each person's 300 for winning their league superbowl.
It's really tough. I'm glad to be where I'm at right now. I won the SB in my league a couple years ago (thanks to Antowan Smith), but to qualify for the top winnings, they compared your total points for the entire regular season and I couldn't touch those guys, although I thought I did well.
It gets nerve racking as the season goes on. A loss really sucks while a win is more of a sense of relief than reason to celebrate. About how most NFL coaches view the game.
