I am in the process of getting a new skin custom designed for this site. A skin that is one of a kind and will not be seen anywhere else.

I would like your ideas of what you think would be best to see here.

Color choices?

Logo Ideas?

Button Choices?

Graphics?


I would like to hear what others think on these ideas, as I may incorporate your ideas into the new site skin

I dont really care what the skin looks like all I request please dont make the background dark and the text light . Ill be forced to not come here anymore because after like 3 minutes sites that do that give me a headache .

1 suggestion that might be cool is at the very top where ambience header is put great athletes in there from the past like 1 from each sport example ( Jerry Rice , Babe Ruth , Wayne Gretzky probably wrong spelling , Michael Jordan . Ive seen it other places but they have stars of today but the great ones should be up there if anything IMO .

Side Note Suggestion

There is currently 52 members that havent posted or 37.1% of the members that have the fat cheerleader status . I dont think that enough embarrassment for them we need to give them an extra push

I really like the whole dark background light text thing....maybe u could make it an option so we pick which one we like the best. hmmmm make like team colors so we can pick the team we like the best as our colors....like pitts would be black and yellow....skins brown and gold....u know. nother suggestion is change the chat room...whenever i go in it keeps kicking me out and i know other that have had the same problem. There is a place that you can get a conference room....its $30 a month but it has like a presentation screen and everything....the ones i have been in are aweosme...u can give ASM tutorials on them if u want. So far I like the ideas.

The problem with certain people or logos you have to watchout for copyright issues. I don't want to get sued. That is all bad.

I would like a darker style background but not so dark you have to use white as a text color.

Once we get a little bigger (after the upgrades are done) then we will have better income to afford the extra upgrades that come with a monthly fee, such as a super state of the art chart/confrence area.

I think it is possible to pick a few options to look at if one hurts your eyes. I will have to discuss that with my web tech to see what we can pull together.

Keep the thoughts and ideas coming, they all help. The more ideas that are presented, the better the site will end up I am sure of it!

The skin will take a week or two to build, then we will start the installation and upgrade process. It is better to do ALL the upgrades at once, so anything you would like to see, mention it right away so I can try to work it into the plans.

I was thinking of something that could make this site look more professional and that is have a homepage for the site . I dont think it would cost much to implement and make the site look much better . On the homepage we could have articles written by staff and maybe a members entry section . This also could attract sports writers to the site .

Thanks JB, I will take that into consideration. I personally don't like them as I will bookmark the forum and never see the entry page again. I just skip it entirely. Maybe if I could find the right stuff to put on it, that would make it more appealing.

Update!

The webdesigner I hired to create and write the code for the skin is a full time family man with a full time job. He does web design on the side.

I have been in contact with him to create our one of a kind custom skin and logo that will not be resold or seen on any other website.

The initial mockup should be on my desk come monday, then after it is ok'd will take about 1-2 weeks to do the actual coding.
