Slinger, the last 3 years I participated in a 300,000 person NBA site basically run exactly like Protrade, and came in the top 1500 all three years points wise, while making a nice profit margin financially (with fictional dollars, of course). If you post what their scoring system is for the NBA (how many points are given for assists, points, fg%, steals, blocks, rebounds)...I could give you a lot of great recommendations. Cleaning up at that site is what made me realize how much profit I could make if it involved real money (hence me at ASM).

Which players are smart buys for your roster all depends on what they are priced at, so I cant really recommend players unless I see if they are priced cheaply, moderately or expensive. If you have a link to their page I'd be happy to take a peak and check out their listings. But as a general rule of thumb for the NBA and stock market fantasy type sites...don't ever take guys that only score, or are only good at one thing. Usually high scoring, combined with either a high assist count, or high rebound rate, is the way to go.

In the one I played in, assists were worth 2 points for every assist, 1.5 per rebound, 2.5 per block and 2.5 per steal. So players like, say, Michael Redd, who has a great scoring average at 24 ppg, Rashard Lewis at 21 ppg, Carmelo Anthony at 26 ppg, Richard Hamilson at 21 ppg, Ben Gordon, etc, would not be wise choices, because their other all around stats aren't great. Guys like Andre Kirilenko, Shawn Marion, Gerald Wallace, are fantasy god sends because they all average high steal and block numbers, along with scoring and high rebounding. If the Lebron's, D-Wade's, Duncan's Dirk's, KG's and Iverson's are out of your price range...I'd look at the following to buy (these stats are roughly accurate from memory):
--Paul Pierce: 27 pts, 7 rbs, 5 asts
--Jermaine Oneal: 20 pts, 10 rbs, 2.5 blks (he would be a great pick, as last year he battled injuries the whole time and the team imploded...he has a chip on his shoulder and should have a monster stat year).
--Gilbert Arenas: 28 ppg, 5 rbs, 5 asts.
--Tracy McGrady: (injured all last year, but when healthy, a regular 25 ppg, 5 rbs, 5 asts guy. Apparently he is 100% healthy and ready to go)
--Yao Ming: Averaged 24 pts and 11 rbds per game for 20 games straight before getting hurt. Like T-Mac, he is now healthy and ready to go, and should prove just how good he can be).
--Lamar Odom: 15 pts, 9 rbs, 5 asts
--Andrei Kirilenko: 16 pts, 8 rbs, 4 asts, 2.5 blks, 2.5 stls
--Shawn Marion: 22 ppg, 12 rbs, 2 stls, 2 blks
--Dwight Howard: 15 ppg, 12 rbs, 2 blks
--Elton Brand: 24 ppg, 11 rbs, 2.5 blks
--Pau Gasol: 19 ppg, 9 rbs, 4 asts, 2.5 blks (really upped his assists and scoring a bit last year)
--Chris Paul: 16 ppg, 7.5 asts (he is set for a statistical explosion, will probably get 8-9 assists per game easily, while upping his scoring).
--Steve Nash: 18 ppg, 10 asts
--Jason Kidd: 16 ppg, 8.5 asts, 6 rbs
--Gerald Wallace: 15 ppg, 7 rbs, 3 asts, 2 stls, 2 blks
--Chauncy Billups: 20 ppg, 8.5 asts, 3 rbs
--Brad Miller: 14 ppg, 9 rbs, 5 asts
--Boris Diaw: 13 ppg, 6 rbs, 5 asts
--Nenad Krstic: The last half of the season, and especially quarter and in the playoffs, he really started to show some amazing flashes of talent...14 pts, 10 rbd type games with a few blocks. After a few years now in the league, Nets are expecting him to be their go to forward and a legit inside presence.
--Carlos Boozer: Last year was injured half the year, but should be set to have an 17 and 11, or 18 and 10, type season, as he is making it a mission to shut his critics up.
--Joe Johnson: 22 ppg, 5 rbs, 4 asts...2nd half of the year he exploded after needing the first half to gel in the new system...should start off hot right away and have a monster year, making his first all star team.
--TJ Ford: His assists per game should fly up to the 8-8.5 range since his trade to Toronto.
--Marcus Camby: 10 ppg, 12 rbs, 3 blks
--Chris Wilcox: 14 ppg, 8 rbs after trade (if Sonics resign him, his stats will go way up, he has loads of talent, just needs a full year and playing time)
--David West: 17 ppg, 8 rbs (after injuries ruining his first two years, third year (last year) was basically his rookie year, and he put up amazingly solid numbers. 4 year college guys always are all around great reliable players, he should improve statistically, especially given another year to gel with Paul and with Peja shooting on the wing.
--Tyson Chandler: His back problems and breathing are non issues now...and he now has all the playing time in the world instead of splitting time with 3 other center/power forwards on the Bulls. When healthy, he's a 10 pt, 11 rbd, 2.5 blk machine.
--Andre Iguadala: The guy is a gifted athlete, great passer and rebounder for his size...he is working his ass off in the off season and is vowing to become 10 times more aggressive on offense to be the third major scorer and all around presense the Sixers need. Could have a huge year.
--Jameer Nelson: After surviving the me-first Steve Francis era, and battling other pg's, Nelson finally proved he is a legit starting point guard, capable of awesome defense, quickness, speed, passing, and can take anyone off the dribbe. 14 pts, 4 rbs, 4 asts for the year, and only half of that he started. Has had his two years to adjust, this season he's walking in as the guarunteed starter and they are building the team around him, should be a 16 ppg, 7 asts, 4 rbd guy this year.
--Darko Milicic: Bit of a gamble, but in 20 minutes a game for the Magic, got about 11 pts, 7 rbs, 2 blks a game...and that after literally not playing for two years in Detroit. He's only 21 and has huge talent, will get 25-30 minutes a game this year.
--Andries Biendrins: Golden State, has three centers (Foyle and OBryant being the other), but it looks like Biedrins is getting the nod for more PT after showing himself to be one of the rare Euro players with toughness and great rebounding, as well as true 7 foot post moves in the paint.
--Deron Williams: After struggling the first half of the year, came on real strong the second half, averaging about 14 pts and 5 asts per game. He's the official starter for years to come now, and the Jazz entire monster frontcourt is ready and healthy. His assits and scoring should go way up with more playing time and new found confidence...probably 16 ppg, 6-7 assists.
--Brandon Roy: Randy Foye and Adam Morrison will be leading the rooks in scoring, but Roy has the all around game. I'm sure Portland (since they sucked so much last year) will readily hand him 30 minutes a game. College seniors are always ready to contribute right away, and like Chris Paul, this guy's bball smarts IQ is off the chart. I'd say 15 ppg, 5 rbs, 5 asts for his rookie year, which will only go up in time).
--Charlie Villanueva: No longer splitting time with Chris Bosh in Toronto...PF spot is all his. He's young, has Lamar Odom like all around talent, and as long as he hustles, in Milwaukee he should flourish. Last year he got 14 and 6 I think...that will probably up to 15-16 ppg, and 8 rbs, with higher assists as well.
--Andrew Bogut: 11 ppg, 7 rbs, 1.5 blks. Like Villanueva, and also on the Bucks, he will benefit from Magloire being traded, and Gadzuric and Joe Smith being official backups. Bucks want Bogut to man the middle and get 30-35 minutes a game this year. He has Brad Miller all around type talent; great passer, great jumpshot from outside, great team player, and his rebounding numbers should go up. I'd pencil him in for 13 ppg, 8-9 rbs, 4 asts, 1.5 blks.
--Emeka Okafor: Horrible sophomore season last year due to injury; now he's fully healthy, looking to avenge his bad year, has been working with Hakeen Olajuwon two years straight, and is looking to prove he has offense to go along with his consistent 10 rbs a game, 2 blks, and tough defense.

Any player that has 17-20 ppg, along with 8-10 of either rebounds or assists is a money pick, or guys that score 15-18 ppg that have a nice combo of 5 rbs, 5 asts, and a few steals and blocks. Consistancy is always important, and the higher their FG%, the better, some fantasy stock market sites dock points for FG misses, turnovers, etc. The above guys should be a good start, along with the obvious ones like Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Iverson, Dirk, Duncan, KG, etc. Hope that helps, and feel free to leave me a message on here about pricings of players; I'm great at predicting this stuff (im a big dork lol), feel free to soak up my knowledge.
