Moderating Alexa too?
I'm sure most of you don't go to Alexa anymore but if you have, you may have noticed the last review was some pretty harsh criticism and rated them one star. Some of you may think I wrote the review but I can gurantee you that I did not.
Every once in a while, I was going in and seeing if there were any more. I noticed that the review was getting a lot of attention. It got up to 5 out of 9 people found it helpful. I go in a couple days ago and it says 1 out of 3. WTH?! How did that drop? Well, I found out that somebody (most likely Chris or another member of ASM staff) somehow had the review deleted. Fortunately, the poster had saved the write up and put it back on. I agree with every line. There isn't a lie there. All it did is lay out the facts. You'll have to re-vote, if you voted on it before. lol
Now, I can understand why they wouldn't want it right there at the top, exposing the realities of the site, but what can you do? If that's the way things are and somebody feels that way, so be it. My only concern now is how many more have been deleted after the person left? How accurate are these 140+ ratings? My guess is, not very. Quite a few are from Chris' buddies. And only a few short negative are 'left up' to make it look realisitc. Usually short statements that can be written off and explained away as 'disgruntled traders who lost money'. That's the golden excuse. It's also funny how most of the 5 star ratings are left by people who have only been at ASM for a week.
Just wanted to let everyone know they're finding ways to moderate Alexa too. So what's the point of having Alexa ratings? Isn't much on the net they aren't controlling about themselves.
Had they left it up, I wasn't going to say a word. But, if they want to alter a rating system on themselves, I'll let people know about it.
