That's nothing but a smart marketing move, IMO. Think about it, if you think ASM is flawed or doesn't pay out, etc., would you write your Congressman to help ASM become legal? I don't think so, and ASM know this very well. But by asking users to do that, they can keep the cheerleaders happy (there aren't too many of them these days, so a letter here and there will not cause movement in the US government) while at the same time making the "naysayers" wonder, "hey, maybe ASM is not as bad as I thought.." And there they get what they wanted.. it's all about the right moves
