Default Contact your congressman?

Did y'all see that thread (I know Slinger did)? Isn't it a bit dangerous for ASM to have us contact our government representatives if they aren't paying out? By even publicly suggesting a thing, aren't they more likely to face government scrutiny, perhaps prematurely?

I would see this as a positive move (the U.S. government taking an interest) and showing the potential for ASM legitimacy. And then we see the whole NickH debacle and removing the ability to search for him... well, the two actions just don't fit together!

That's nothing but a smart marketing move, IMO. Think about it, if you think ASM is flawed or doesn't pay out, etc., would you write your Congressman to help ASM become legal? I don't think so, and ASM know this very well. But by asking users to do that, they can keep the cheerleaders happy (there aren't too many of them these days, so a letter here and there will not cause movement in the US government) while at the same time making the "naysayers" wonder, "hey, maybe ASM is not as bad as I thought.." And there they get what they wanted.. it's all about the right moves

You wouldn't write your congressman about legalizing ASM - but you may write your congressman telling them about the illegal operation, etc

True but there's nothing they could or would do as ASM is comfortably hiding in Costa Rica and you're not supposed to gamble anyway
The only thing they might do is forward this info to the respective authorities so that ASM will be awaited by a bunch of lawyers and/or federal agents should they ever try to set foot in the US but I don't think this will happen
