Default Where are all the people ?

I have been looking at other online games and have been amazed to find some with several hundred thousand players. Most of them only about 2 or 3 years old and charge a fee. Some even charge additional fees to own things.

Now as big as the sports field is and the crossover that could happen-sports-gameing-gambling-real stock trading etc, why does ASM only have 13,000 traders after 2 years.

I can not belive the interest is not out there, so that must mean that the ASM marketing is 0.

Something is really wrong with this picture.

When I joined ASM a year ago, I thought the concept was awesome and still do. But I really doubt it will explode like I thought it would. Just too many problems.

What I wait for now is copycat site, that I am sure will come out any day. Just like Mcdonalds others followed. With the potential that this idea has, I know others are working on sites like it. Maybee new ones will be much improved.

I for one will be one of the first to jump ship.

Michael

Are you seriously comparing ASM to MMO's? ;o)

MMO's don't look fondly on real money trading, and certainly don't require you to use "real money" as "gold" or other commodity in-game..

Yes I was comparing. ASM is a game, winning is measured by how much money you make and withdraw over what you start with. Same as the stock market, futures etc. As far as mmo's and real money the net is full of sites to trade off you e-money or goods for real cash. Some people are making a great deal of money at this and are having fun. ASM was like this at the begining but those days are gone.

I have personal and business interests and contacts in the MMO industry. In nearly every case, RMT is a violation of the user agreement, and it's starting to be cracked down on.
