I have to say...until the past year, I had absolutely no freaking idea that NASCAR was this huge. I literally thought it had a fan base of three people, and that these three people happened to be inbred hillbillies that spent the time chugging Milwaukee "Beast" with mullets to boot and everything.
Looks like I've been the in-the-minority idiot with that stereotype in my head though lol, as stats are showing that NASCAR is set to be right up there with the NFL, surpassing the MLB and NBA as far as U.S. popularity in sports goes by around 2010. It's just interesting to me...growing up in the Philly 'burbs and now living in Washington DC...I don't think I have ever met, in my entire life, a single person that could name one other driver other then Jeff Gordon or Dale Earnhardt Jr. It's amazing, in a thumbs up way, how many different growing sports cultures are out there that people might not understand or be a part of just based on where they grew up.
Good luck with the NASCAR fantasy league Dewjunkie!
